A survey of venture capital firms carried out in Argentina in 2019 revealed that only 20.9 percent of them had at least one woman in their governing board. The remaining 79.1 percent of the VC funds analyzed had boards of directors completely composed of men. In the case of startups that received VC funding, the gender gap was even wider. A mere 17.3 percent of the startups surveyed had one woman in the board of directors, while the rest had no female representation at all in their main decision making body.
