In 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic changed shopping behaviors due to quarantine and other restrictions. In December, as well as earlier months in 2020, approximately 70 percent of respondents purchased their pet food in person. This figure dropped to 60 percent in November 2021.
