According to a survey carried out in 2019, more than half of Brazilian respondents said they would choose a travel destination based on if it would be possible to take their pets with them. Over 40 percent of Mexicans and Colombians surveyed also agreed with that statement. Argentina – although among the countries with the largest share of households with pets in Latin America – registered the lowest percentage of respondents who would look for pet-friendly holiday options, among the four countries studied.

The survey was conducted among adults who had taken a trip in the 12 months prior to the survey, or planning to take a trip in the 12 months following it.
