In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures, distance learning became a necessity for Mexican students. This has resulted in more work for children, teachers, and parents. According to an online survey carried out in Mexico in June 2020, the most common distance learning activity performed by parents during the lockdown was to individually solve educational tasks or homework assigned by teachers. Working with freely available textbooks or workbooks provided by schools were also undertaken by more than half of surveyed parents.
