Primary forest loss in Ghana 2001-2022
As of 2022, 18 thousand hectares of forest were lost in Ghana, which was 7.3 thousand hectares more compared to the previous year. Over the observed time period, humid primary forest loss in the country fluctuated, ranging between 1.5 and 18 thousand hectares. According to the source, the total loss during this period reached 93.6 kilo hectares in Ghana, equivalent to 9.3 percent of the total tree cover loss within the same period.
