According to the survey conducted on health tourism in Thailand from February to June 2019, it revealed that the majority of medical tourists in Thailand were female, which accounted for 58.86 percent. By comparison, male medical tourists accounted for 41.14 percent.

The survey was conducted in medical facilities in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Mae Hong Son, Saraburi, and Nhong Kai province, and in Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, and Phuket International Airport.
