BookForum and the International Book Arsenal Festival gained the largest share of mentions in social media among literature events by Ukrainians in the first seven months of 2020, measured at 32 and 27 percent, respectively. BookForum usually takes places in Lviv, and Book Arsenal in Kyiv.

The study analyzed 3,000 public social media posts that were randomly selected from 1,387,163 posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and on public channels on Telegram published from January 1 to July 31, 2020 which contained references to books, book genres, or major book events and had at least one interaction ((like, share, comment, retweet, etc.) or at least 10 views, The posts were by users who indicated Ukraine as their country of residence or did not indicate that but wrote the post in Ukrainian. The coding process identified 2,212 relevant references to reading.
