In the school year 2019/2020, the number of teachers in pre-primary schools in Algeria exceeded 17.9 thousand, increasing slightly compared to the previous year. Moreover, from 2015 onwards, the number of pre-primary school teachers in the country peaked at over 18 thousand in the school year 2017/2018.
Pre-primary school corresponds to nursery school, which is known as école préparatoire in Algeria. It precedes primary education and is attended by pupils aged approximately three to six years.
