Energy generation outlook in the Netherlands 2040, by source

Offshore wind is forecast to become the greatest contributor to the energy mix in the Netherlands by 2040. That year, wind farms off the Dutch coast would generate 54.1 terawatt hours of electricity. Onshore wind is projected to add a further 12.9 terawatt hours in wind energy. Meanwhile, solar farms are forecast to have the largest energy capacity in the Netherlands by 2040.
