Installed solar capacity across JV airports in India 2020
Across the various joint venture (JV) airports in India, Cochin airport, with 42 megawatts, had the highest installed solar power capacity across the country. This was followed by Delhi and Bangalore, with 7.8 and 6.8 megawatts respectively. Solar power was installed across the airports with the dual aim of reducing carbon emission and the financial burden towards electricity requirement. 49 airports, under the administration of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), also generated power with solar energy. The combined capacity across AAI administered airports was around 43 MW.
