In the fiscal year 2022, the average traffic volume of toll fee chargeable expressways in Japan operated by Central Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. (NEXCO Central) reached around two million vehicles per day. NEXCO Central is one of the six formally privatized expressway companies that succeeded Japan's former public corporations operating the country's vital highway routes.
