In the 2020/2021 school year, the number of public middle (or lower secondary) and secondary (or upper secondary) schools in Tunisia corresponded to 1,448, increasing slightly compared to the previous year. Moreover, public middle and secondary educational institutions in the country employed over 73,000 teachers. This level of education was attended by around 1.1 million students in 2021.
