During 2019, passengers seated in an economy flight carried out on a narrowbody aircraft type contributed over one-third of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the commercial aviation industry. In that period, CO2 emissions of freight aviation constituted roughly 15 percent of global emissions.
