As of September 2020, 65 percent of survey participants in Brazil said they were planning to spend less when shopping for the end-of-year holidays, in comparison to the same period in 2019. Only 11 percent were planning to increase their holiday expenditures in 2020. As of that same month, nearly 30 percent of Brazilian respondents were waiting for a vaccine or treatment against COVID-19 to return to their normal out-of-home activities.
