Fiber-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) was the most common connection type among fixed broadband connections in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2023, with around 14.5 million connections using the technology. An FTTC connection is delivered via fiber optic cables to a cabinet in the street, with copper cables then delivering the connection to the premises. Fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) connections, which enable faster speeds by using fiber cables running directly to the premises, exceeded 5.6 million in 2023, up from 3.7 million the previous year.
