In 2021, the number of ferry passengers in the Chinese city of Wuhan increased by almost 140 percent compared to the previous year. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, all Chinese cities experienced negative growth in ferry ridership in 2020. Ferries are the least used mean of public transport in China.
