In 2021, Uttar Pradesh had over 15 thousand TB patients that were transferred to a health facility within the region. By contrast, Haryana and Bihar had over four thousand TB patients each that were transferred to a health facility within those respective states.
Transfer of patients is a crucial part after a tuberculosis diagnosis to ensure that all notified cases are on treatment without any interruptions and are completed successfully. This guarantees higher efficacy of the given treatment.
