In 2021, about 20 thousand TB patients in Delhi were transferred to a health facility located more on the state outskirts or beyond, after a TB notification . By contrast, only 2.1 thousand TB patients from Maharashtra were transferred to a health facility further toward the state peripherals or beyond.
Transfer of patients is a crucial part after a tuberculosis diagnosis to ensure that all notified cases are on treatment without any interruptions and are completed successfully. This guarantees higher efficacy of the given treatment.
