Globally, the total mine production of rare earth elements more than doubled between 2010 and 2023. From approximately 133,000 metric tons of rare-earth-oxide (REO) content produced in 2010, rare earths production grew to an estimated 350,000 metric tons of REO content in 2023.

China and the United States are the world's leading rare earths producing countries.
