Livestock stock in Algeria 2021, by species
Chicken constituted the predominant livestock in Algeria in 2021. In that year, over 137 million chickens were in the country. Sheep ranked second, corresponding to approximately 18 million heads. On the other hand, pigs and "mules and hinnies" represented the smallest number of stock, amounting to only around 18,000 and 5,000 heads, respectively.
