Between 1991 and 2019, the Gross Domestic Product for Central and Eastern European countries increased by six percent. The region's largest GDP was recorded at 6.6 percent in 2006. However, after 2006, GDP for the CEE countries fell to -3.5 percent in 2009 due to the financial crisis. In 2020, GDP reached -3.4 percent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, GDP increased by 0.5 percent.

Annual percentage growth rate of GDP at market prices based on constant local currency. Aggregates are based on constant 2010 U.S. dollars. GDP is the sum of gross value added by all resident producers in the economy plus any product taxes and minus any subsidies not included in the value of the products. It is calculated without making deductions for depreciation of fabricated assets or for depletion and degradation of natural resources.
