People's behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic in Tunisia 2020
In October 2020, the highest share of Tunisian households (83.1 percent of respondents) declared that they were buying more food because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Moreover, as a result of the outbreak, over 32 percent of Tunisian respondents avoided public transports, and over 26 percent respected social distancing rules.
Furthermore, as of October 2020, only 1.4 percent of Tunisian families stated that they washed their hands as a response to COVID-19. However, this outcome differed significantly from the previous survey conducted between April and May 2020, where almost all respondents said they washed their hands (over 90 percent) and respected social distancing norms (80 percent). Therefore, people’s attitudes towards COVID-19 changed over the different phases of the pandemic.
