As of October 2020, Cabernet Sauvignon was the most produced type of wine with designation of origin in Chile, accounting for 30.6 percent of the share. Sauvignon Blanc followed, with 14.6 percent of the distribution. In 2019, Chile's most exported type of wine was Cabernet Sauvignon reaching a value of over 276 million dollars. The term designation of origin is a classification system, which determines where the wine was produced.
