Share of French people purchasing second-hand home textiles 2018, by age group
Buying new is not necessarily the only solution when it comes to clothing, home textiles and footwear items. One can also consider barter, rental, or second-hand purchase. Regarding the latter option, a survey conducted in 2018 revealed that an important portion (among people buying second-hand) of people aged between 45 and 59 years old purchased second-hand home textiles (32 percent). At the time, only 23 percent of people aged between 15 and 44 years old reported purchasing this kind of items second-hand.
