Number of people living with HIV in Morocco 2008-2019

The number of people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections in Morocco amounted to 21,000 in 2019, which was the same for 2017 and 2018, but registered an increase of 1,000 infected people compared to 2016. Between 2008 and 2019, the number of viral infections of this kind recorded an overall increase from 15,000 to 21,000 in the country.

Sex workers have been identified as one of the groups with high infection vulnerability in the country. On the whole, since the first HIV infection in Morocco in 1986, health programs have been put in place to combat the disease.
