In 2022, 215 movie titles were released in cinemas across Liberia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Between 2015 and 2022, the largest number of movies was released in 2019. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, cinemas closed in 2020. In September 2020, they were reopened only in Nigeria. In anglophone West-Africa, Nigeria accounted for the largest share of revenue generated by the box office in these three countries.
