In 2022, there were in total 81 movie theaters across Nigeria and Ghana. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, 11 new movie theaters opened in Nigeria in 2020. From 2015, the number of cinema sites across the three countries experienced a considerable increase. In anglophone West Africa, the Nigerian company Filmhouse is the major movie chain.
