Crowdfunding means that a large number of people are involved in the development, in economic and financial terms, of a project. This practice is done mainly through the Internet and has also grown thanks to social networks. Thus, this method of financing is part of a process of disintermediation and the contribution can be made by individuals or companies, regardless of the field of activity. As the crowdfunding activity has evolved to reach around 320 million euros of funds during the first quarter of 2020 in France, the source wanted to analyse the types of money raised or invested. Thus, the results show that most of funds raised (224.2 million euros) were obligations, followed by paid loans (29.7 million euros).

* Minibons: The minibon can be subscribed both by individuals or traders and by legal persons. This means that lenders can also be corporations. The minibon thus constitutes a debt issued by the company wishing to be financed. The minibon will thus be close to a bond.
** Capital: investors are only entitled to a financial consideration and not to shares in the company, so there is no dilution of capital.
*** Donation with/without compensation: the person will donate the amount of their choice, but will either receive or not receive something in return. This "reward" or "compensation" is a form of barter, which can be manifested materially (offer of gifts, promotional items) or more symbolically (in time granted, in publicity). One can also pre-sale items.
**** Paid/unpaid loan: business and individual lenders receive (or don't) interest on a regular basis.
***** Royalties: royalty crowdfunding allows people investing in the company to be involved thanks to the fact that they are remunerated by a percentage of turnover, but avoids a transfer of power, and therefore a dilution of capital.
****** Bonds: financial security issued directly by a company seeking funds to finance its growth or a project. Subscribing to bonds allows you to receive fixed annual interest. These can be received with the repayment of capital "in fine", that is to say on the maturity date of the bond loan or can be received annually during the term of the investment.
