At the periodical health examinations organized by business enterprises in Japan, about 56 percent of all employees received abnormal results in 2018, indicating a continuous increase in the last decade. That year, the rate of abnormal results was highest in the case of tests for lipid in blood with close to 32 percent.

Figures are based on the reports submitted by business enterprises that regularly have more than 50 employees. In 2018, the number of examined employees amounted to around 13.6 million.
