In 2019, consumers in the Netherlands spent over two billion British pounds online during the Christmas season, while total offline Christmas expenditures reached the 10-billion-pound mark. Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, online spending is set to increase considerably in 2020, while offline spending is expected to decrease by a few billion British pounds.
