According to this survey conducted in Italy in January 2020, around a third of the respondents used a smart home speaker in the past to access information and news on the internet . On the other hand, bookings and money transfers were the least used function of smart speakers. The order of the functions did not change much when the respondents were asked what they would use smart home speakers for in the future. The search of news on the internet (45 percent) and the communication with contacts (45 percent) were still the functions that respondents were more likely to use in the future.
