According to a 2020 survey, 28 percent of responding IT managers from Brazil said their organizations paid a ransom to regain access to their encrypted data after their most significant ransomware attack. The same was expressed by 13 percent of respondents from Mexico. Furthermore, it was also found that among the Latin American countries included, Brazil had the highest share of organizations that suffered ransomware attacks in 2020, with 65 percent of the country's respondents stating that their organizations had been a victims of this type of cyber crime.
