In a survey conducted in 2020, regarding travel confidence post-coronavirus lockdown, 87 percent of respondents in India stated that they were likely to resume short-haul trips to neighboring countries within one year of lockdown measures lifting. Comparatively, for the same survey 48 percent of respondents in Japan stated that they would resume short-haul trips to neighboring countries within one year of the easing of lockdown measures.
