In 2019, 4.78 million prenatal consultations were carried out in Mexico, down from almost five million visits reported a year earlier. This figure has constantly decreased since 2016, when it amounted to 6.15 million antenatal visits. In 2018, pregnancy, childbirth, and puerperium were the most common diagnosis for hospital dischargers in the North American country.
