From 2015 to 2019, the volume of cargo handled in the main Greek ports of the Aegean Sea region has increased. Liquid cargo tended to dominate the cargo traffic. In 2019, approximately 62 million metric tons of liquid cargo was handled in the Aegean Sea ports in Greece, with the cumulative cargo volume amounting to 155 million metric tons.
