Over the period observed, the value of alcoholic beverages and tobacco sold in retail outlets in Poland increased, reaching approximately over 86 billion zloty in 2023. This represents an increase of six percent compared to the previous year.
Spirits market in Poland
The Polish spirits market had a three billion U.S. dollars revenue in 2023. According to the Statista Consumer Market Outlook, this figure is estimated to rise to 3.87 billion dollars by 2029. The spirits market has experienced fluctuating values in terms of per capita revenue, amounting to almost 75 U.S. dollars in 2023. The vodka production volume was at its highest in 2013, reaching over 1.15 million hectoliters.
Spirits trade flows
In recent years, Polish spirits export value has followed an uneven trend. France, the USA, and Germany were the main export markets for hard liquors produced in Poland in 2023. In terms of spirits imports, Polish consumers favor British products the most. Poland imported hard liquors worth over 208 million U.S. dollars from the United Kingdom in 2023. Spirits produced in the USA and Ireland followed.
