Value of retail sales of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Poland 2010-2023
Over the period observed, the value of food and non-alcoholic beverages sold in retail outlets in Poland increased, reaching approximately 280.5 billion zloty in 2023. This represents an increase of 11 percent compared to the previous year.
Production of non-alcoholic beverages in Poland
Between 2010 and 2021, the number of soft drinks, mineral water, and other bottled water manufacturers decreased by 110 enterprises. At the same, the Polish tea and coffee processing industry has gained 195 new enterprises since 2010. Over the past few years, the production volume of fruit and vegetable juice has fluctuated. The industry reached production volume of over 10.2 million hectoliters in 2023. Regarding the bottled water production volume, unsweetened and non-flavored mineral and sparkling water products have dominated the Polish market.
Non-alcoholic beverages trade flows
Recently, Polish coffee export value has followed an uneven trend. In 2022, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Germany were the main export markets for coffee produced in Poland. In terms of tea, Polish consumers favor Kenyan products the most. In 2023, Poland imported tea products worth 25 million U.S. dollars from Sri Lanka. As for the fruit and vegetable juice export value, most of it was generated on the German market. The neighboring country imported Polish juices worth over 278 million U.S. dollars in 2023.
