Production of grapes in Algeria 2010-2021
Grape production is of great importance within the Algerian agricultural sector, and both table and wine grapes are produced from the vineyards of the country. At the time of the French colonial rule from 1830 to 1962, Algeria used to be one of the world’s major wine producers. However, as wine consumption and exports decreased in the following decades, the production of wine grapes consequently declined.
