Number of bank customers in Nigeria 2016-2021
Nigeria had 122.3 million active bank customers in 2021. Compared to 2016, the number of clients increased by over 60 million. The country counts more than 200 million inhabitants, and the adult population made up of more than half of the inhabitants as of 2021. Moreover, the credit card penetration in Nigeria is quite low: less than three percent of people aged 15 years and older own a credit card.
