Amount of used clothes, textiles and footwear collected in France 2020, by inhabitant
Nowadays, used clothing, home textiles and footwear items are collected through four main collection methods: containers, donations to non-profit organizations, in-store drop-offs and punctual collections. Between 2014 and 2019, the amount of items collected increased in France, and people seem to be donating more and more. In 2014, 2.7 kilograms of used clothing, home textiles and footwear items were collected per inhabitant, compared to 3.7 kilograms five years later. In 2020, the general trend reflected a decrease: on average, 3.1 kilograms of used items were collected per inhabitants.
