Used clothing, textiles and footwear collected in France 2020, per collection point
Today, used clothing, home textiles and footwear items are collected through four main collection methods: containers, donations to non-profit organizations, in-store drop-offs and punctual collections. Between 2014 and 2019, the amount of items collected increased in France. In 2014, approximatively five tons of used clothing, home textiles and footwear items were collected per collection points, compared to almost five and a half tons five years later. In 2020, these figures decreased slightly, and around 4.5 tons of used clothing items were collected per collection points.
