In 2019, there were almost 1.5 thousand police violence complaints reported in Brazil through the 'Disque 100' hotline, down from over 1.6 thousand complaints a year later. Between 2015 and 2018, the number of complaints in the Portuguese speaking country increased by more than 65 percent, reaching in the latter year the highest figure in the displayed period. In the following year, São Paulo was the state with the largest share of complaints.
