Annual growth rate of merchandise exports in Africa 2005-2019
In 2019, merchandise exports from Africa declined by 3.8 percent in comparison to the previous year. It was the first slowdown, after two positive growth rates in the previous years, 18.25 percent in 2017 and 14.6 percent in 2018. In terms of value, goods exports in Africa amounted to roughly 470.2 billion U.S. dollars as of 2019.
