A survey conducted between November and December 2019 about diversity in the workplace asked sexual minorities in Japan about their coming out. It was revealed that more than half of the surveyed LGBT respondents had yet to come out to someone. According to the survey's results, friends were chosen most frequently as confidant, followed by family members.
