In 2017, in India, the contribution of non-communicable diseases to total disease burden had increased from 38 percent to 63 percent in 1990. This is indicative of a health care delivery system that focuses not solely on episodic care but focuses more on a comprehensive health care plan. That mean implementing a health delivery system that is inclusive of prevention and primary health care as opposed to only secondary and tertiary.
