The number of reported hate crimes generally increased in Norway since 2015. While 347 reports were filed against hate crime in 2015, the number had more than doubled by 2023, reaching almost 1,100. The increase in reported crimes may be down to changing awareness and attitudes around reporting, and not necessarily down to an actual increase of discrimination.
