In Italy, between January and August 2020, many products went out-of-stock when they were both promoted and non-promoted by retailers. As regards the first condition, fruit and vegetables were the fastest sold products, with a out-of-stock (OOF) rate of 2.7 percent when promoted. Even when not promoted, fruit and vegetables reported the highest out-of-stock rate, at 11.6 percent.
