According to a survey conducted in Japan in 2019, eight percent of respondents would switch to 5G networks as soon as becomes available. The establishment of 5G networks is considered a high priority for the country's plans of a smart society. Therefore, Japanese mobile carriers like NTT Docomo, SoftBank and Rakuten Mobile worked on building out their 5G networks.
