The most essential ingredient to make chocolate is cacao or cocoa beans. Producing these beans is rather important as chocolate and cocoa-flavours are wildly used in the food and drinks sectors. France's first two largest suppliers of cacao are both situated in West Africa. Ivory Coast exported over 63,900 tons of its production of cocoa beans to France in 2023, and Ghana exported over 46,000 tons.
