Access to sanitation facilities in Tanzanian schools 2018
Roughly 89 percent of schools in Tanzania had access to improved sanitation facilities in 2018. Nearly 11 percent used unimproved facilities, such as pit latrines without a slab or platform, hanging latrines, and bucket latrines. Less than one percent of schools had no toilet facilities, what could have been just a temporary situation, as the governmental policies state that a school cannot be established without a toilet.
